Rohingya Families Forced out towards Bangladesh


The news below is shared for Rohingya Vision and shows that continued genocidal pogroms against the Rohingya have not stopped yet. Just a day earlier, as reported by Dhaka Tribune, another 107 Rohingyas had entered Bangladesh.

Buthidaung: Burmese forces intolerable persecution have left 130 Rohingya families out from their villages in Buthidaung Township today (11th Feb), reports locals.
130 Rohingya families from Sindi Farang (Sein Nyin Pyar) village track have been forced out of their villages due to intolerable military tortures, killings and arrests.
“We had to leave our villages before sunrise as we can’t tolerate anymore sufferings which military comes to our villages and starts every morning” explains an elderly from the group.
To escape such military persecution they have decided to take perilous journey towards the neighbouring Bangladesh, where more than 800, 000 Rohingya took shelter since late 2017.

A fresh batch of 107 Rohingya refugees have crossed over to Bangladesh through the Teknaf border in Cox’s Bazar.

The refugees entered Bangladesh territory by crossing the Naf River at five points from the morning till 5pm on Saturday.

Teknaf police station Officer-in-Charge Md Moin Uddin said police and Ansar members had already sent the refugees to Hariakhali temporary army camp.

There had been reports of another military crackdown on the Rohingya people in Sangudain village under Rachidong thana in Rakhine, and those who escaped the offensive entered Bangladesh through Dongkhali border, the OC added
