Jewish activists protest killings of Palestinians by delivering symbolic coffins


After the recent bloodshed in Palestine, a group of American Jewish activists is leaving coffins at the door of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s office in New York to signify Palestinian lives lost at the hands of Israeli forces.
The American Jewish progressive activist group called IfNotNow has taken initiative to guilt Democratic Congress member Chuck Schumer on staying silent after the barbaric violence on unarmed Palestinian protestors, by leaving coffins on his office door to denote all the lives lost in the carnage.
This powerful act of peaceful protest was a subsequence of Schumer applauding President Donald Trump on moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem and remaining silent on the violent action against Palestinians.
IfNotNow, in spite of comprising of Jewish activists, stands against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem had sparked several protests in Palestine, amid which more than 60 Palestinians were killed, including an 8-month old infant.
Amongst the protesters, some were armed with stones and rubber tires, to which the Israeli forces retorted by the use of live ammunition and tear gas that left more than 2,000 people injured.
