This powerful act of peaceful protest was a subsequence of Schumer applauding President Donald Trump on moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem and remaining silent on the violent action against Palestinians.
IfNotNow, in spite of comprising of Jewish activists, stands against the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
The opening of the US Embassy in Jerusalem had sparked several protests in Palestine, amid which more than 60 Palestinians were killed, including an 8-month old infant.
Amongst the protesters, some were armed with stones and rubber tires, to which the Israeli forces retorted by the use of live ammunition and tear gas that left more than 2,000 people injured.
