Trump lied about Russia

The host of the 2013 Miss Universe pageant said Tuesday that President Trump stayed overnight in Moscow the night before the pageant.
Thomas Roberts, a former NBC anchor, told the Daily Beast that he met Trump in Moscow on Nov. 8, 2013, and interviewed him the following day.
"The first time I met Donald Trump it was in Moscow on Nov. 8, 2013," Roberts said. "I taped a sit-down interview with Trump the next day on Nov. 9. That was also the date for the Miss Universe broadcast."
Roberts's comments appear to contradict what Trump allegedly told former FBI Director James Comey in an effort to dispute salacious claims in the "Steele dossier," a document of opposition research compiled by former British spy Christopher Steele.
One of Comey's memos, which detail his interactions with the president while serving as Trump's FBI director early last year, said that Trump claimed that he did not stay overnight in Moscow during the 2013 trip.
The former FBI director said Trump offered the comments while saying he could not have told Russian prostitutes to urinate on a bed in the Ritz-Carlton, as the dossier purports.
Comey wrote that Trump "said he had spoken to people who had been on the Miss Universe trip with him and they had reminded him that he didn't stay over night in Russia for that."
Flight records obtained by Bloomberg earlier this week also corroborate that Trump stayed overnight in Moscow.
It was previously known that Trump stayed overnight in Moscow due to social media posts and testimony from his personal bodyguard, despite his repeated denials to Comey.
