On Friday, the world's tallest man, Sultan Kosen, met the world's shortest woman, Jyoti Amge in Cairo, Egypt. Photos of the duo's trip to the Great Pyramids have since gone viral.
Kosen, who stands at a sturdy 8 feet 3 inches tall, hails from Turkey from Kurdish background. The 35-year-old's height has been attributed to a condition called acromegaly, a tumor affecting his pituitary gland. Though he's undergone many surgeries in attempt to remove the tumor, it couldn't be entirely removed. According to reports, he 'stopped' growing in 2012, but still suffers from spinal deformities and requires crutches to walk.
India's Amge measures at 2 feet 6 inches and weighs just 11 pounds due to a type of dwarfism called achondroplasia. The 24-year-old has been cast in a handful of appearances and shows, including "American Horror Story." According to the photos, Amge has to be carried to move around.
The duo was invited to visit Egypt by the Egyptian Tourism Board in attempt to revive the country's struggling tourist industry. Kosen and Amge are just some of the notable figures in the most recent months to pay a visit for the campaign, others being Will Smith and Kourtney Kardashian.
