Inthelead-­‐uptothe2015electionsinBurma,religiousminorities,especiallytheMuslimpopulation,havebeenconsistentlysubjectedtostatesponsoreddiscriminationandviolentabuse,whilesimultaneouslydeniedrepresentationinthepoliticalsphereorincivilsociety.Thisongoingstateofoppression,whichwascatalyzedbytheanti-­‐Rohingyaviolenceof2012,isbackedbyapopularsocialviewthatusesextremelyxenophobicandhatefulrhetoricwhenspeakingabouttheRohingyaandthegreaterMuslimpopulation,onlyappearstobegettingworse.Atthesametime,advocatesforhumanrightsandothermembersofcivilsocietyhavecontinuallyreportedontheshrinkingspacefordissentingviewpointsinBurmesesociety,especiallyontheissueofreligiousfreedomandreligiousminorities,includingforthosewhoholdviewsdefendingtheRohingyafrompersecution.Adevastatinghypocrisyhasthusemergedin
