Hasan Minhaj was partially wrong on facts!

I came to learn about Hasan Minhaj's Patriot Act soon after watching his talk at the 2017 White House Correspondents' dinner. He was witty and intelligent. Although his use of F-words is unacceptable, his Netflex series has been a hit and widely appreciated for discussing many important issues of our time.
But his recent comments on George Floyd murder is partially wrong and unacceptable. I sent the following text message as part of reader's comments:

I did not like the misinformation that Hasan - perhaps unknowingly - fed and shared in this video (on George Floyd tragedy). He did not have the facts right about George Floyd. While none should condone what the police did with George, which is unacceptable and inexcusable, his use of forged dollar note can neither be justified nor can be ignored that had triggered the chain of sad events. What the store clerk did was all understandable when a forged note is used in a store. To blame the entire community for a very logical reaction displayed by the clerk shows Hasan did not have all the facts right. Many stores and restaurants owned by minorities, esp. South Asians, have been vandalized and burned by the rioters in the last few days. It is sad to see such. Many of those immigrants put all the savings to make a living and open up stores in poor black neighborhoods which the white businessmen don't like to do business with because of the risks involved. Now they have been targeted. It is sad outcome. Hasan's comments may well have ignited such unwelcome outrage. I am very disappointed with Hasan's episode on this topic.
