The battle of Maungdaw is not with AA. It is said that it attacked ARSA

 

The fighting took place about 2,000 meters southeast of Khamaung Seik village in Maungdaw, northern Rakhine State.

 

Gen. Zaw Min Tun said that a clash with about 30 ARSA members broke out at around 11:30 am on November 9.

 

"The fighting lasted for about 10 minutes. Some soldiers were wounded on our side. There was no fighting with the AA as some spread on the media and online. There were clashes with the ARSA terrorist insurgents.

 

Alay Village, a town inhabited by ethnic people near the battlefield. Nyo Thar Tun, the administrator of a nearby fishing village, told RFA yesterday that the details of the fighting were not known as the village had been uninhabited since 2017, despite being called Upper Village.

 

Buthidaung In the northern part of Maungdaw, ARSA's activities are increasing. There has been no fighting with ARSA for about six months. In the meantime, there have been drug seizures.

 

The military believes that ARSA's return to Maungdaw may be due to the tightening of security by the Bangladeshi government, which believes that ARSA groups may be involved in the killing of a religious leader in a refugee camp in Bangladesh last month.

 

ARSA was formed in 2017. The group attacked four border guard posts and four military bases in Maungdaw Township on January 4 and is trying to regain control of the area.
