- Hamas’s negotiating team is studying US President Trump’s 20-point plan to end Israel’s war on Gaza, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesman has confirmed.
- Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said he agreed to the plan in a news briefing with Trump at the White House, as Israeli forces continued to escalate attacks on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 45 people since dawn.
- Palestinians in Gaza have said the plan raises many questions, including what a proposed international stabilisation force for the enclave might look like.
- Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 66,055 people and wounded 168,346 since October 2023. Thousands more are believed to be buried under the rubble. A total of 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the October 7, 2023, attacks, and about 200 were taken captive.
Netanyahu back in Israel, to have cabinet meeting tonight
Netanyahu has returned to Israel and is due to meet his cabinet at 8pm (17:00 GMT) to formally approve the incoming head of Israel’s Shin Bet security service, David Zini, according to a statement by the PM’s office.

Palestinian residents suffer tear gas inhalation near Hebron
Several Palestinians have suffered tear gas inhalation after Israeli forces fired tear gas canisters at them near the entrance to the town of Idhna, west of Hebron.
Israeli troops had been stationed at the main entrance to the town, which has been closed with an iron gate for the past two years, the Wafa news agency said.
The military fired live bullets, sound bombs and tear gas, it added.
