I want to extend this phraseology to where I live over the last 20+ years: (not so) Great Britain where the Oxbridge-educated morons offer their delusional observations packaged as “analyses” on their listener-funded propaganda networks.
I pay BBC License Fees just so I can watch football and a few entertainment programs, and I don’t let the British-toxins into my nose.
Just this morning I listened to a few minutes of soundbites on BBC Radio Four (American NPR equivalent) which the chattering classes tune in to get their daily dose of news as opiate. The host Zionist Nick Robinson, whose voice and accent I have come to despise, but have learned to tolerate because I want to study what spins he is promoting. This time he gave the Dubai-based former British national security advisor, whose name I didn’t catch an open mic.
On Iran, Trita Parsi is one of the very best American analysts.
The Briton in Dubai (UAE) went on to spew out typical British elite bullshit: that the Gulf States are fully prepared for Iran’s attacks and that they [that is, the Arab lackeys who were annointed ruling houses when Britain (and France) carved up West Asia] want the Americans to finish the job (that is, to completely defeat “the Iranian REGIME”).
As a young undergraduate, utterly disillusioned with the future-less-ness of life in our old Burma under CIA-backed Ne Win dictatorship in the early 1980’s, I used to turn up either stoned on organic weed to my chemistry labs and, once or twice smoked heroin during chemistry lecture sitting in the last row of the lecture hall.

Jokes aside, there are sane, thoughtful and grounded Americans whom I listen to regularly. But because they speak truth, they don’t thrive within the US Empire.
Trump and his war cabinet watch what former US Marine intel and WMD Inspector for IAEA Scott Ritter calls “war porn” and make “war planning”, on a daily basis, depending on how their stocks are doing on Wall Street, or what the MAGA polls are coughing up.
War porns are daily short video-clips of how US and Israeli missiles and bombs blow up (empty) buildings in Iran while all the critical weapon systems remain intact, hundreds of meter in underground cities fitted with rail system.
Never mind that B-52 and the so-called bunker busters can’t do nothing to “obliterate” the Iranian defences or offensive capabilities: these cities are built, with the best tunnel tech and archecture provided by N. Korea, and lie deep under Iran’s granite mountain ranges, not simply under the Iranian desert sand or forests!

A silver lining in American society is this: there are a handful of seriously well-informed, honest and honorable Americans with relevant expertise who speak truth. I turn to them for truthful and informed analyses. I don’t listen to them to sooth my enraged soul, but to hear from those who know what they are talking about when it comes to wars, Hitlerite or “just wars”. (To belabour the obvious, “just war” is the phrase or concept that cannot be credibly mentioned in the same breath with “American wars”. US troops die for imperialist goals of loot, theft, land grab and domination, and the corporate class get rich, whatever the outcome.
But, tragically for the Empire, the reach of my favorite American analysts are limited compared to millions of MAGA-men and -women who drink kool-aid as a chillingly stupid tribe of Americans.

On terrorism, Larry Johnson, a CIA vet in counter-terrorism, is the best when he pointedly said, “Judge, we are the Terrorist. We funded all these guys (ISIS, Al Quaeda etc.”.
Former Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson is another sane voice with deep military and planning experiences as Special Asssistant to the US Secretary of State ex-Gen. Colin Powell. Worth hearing his analyses.
