Israel is moving ahead with plans to build more than 1,200 settler housing units in the E1 area, east of occupied Jerusalem, threatening around 5,000 Palestinians in Bedouin and herding communities with ethnic cleansing.
The new colony would isolate the northern and southern parts of the occupied West Bank from each other.
On today’s program, we speak with Zena Al Tahhan, a freelance journalist based in the occupied West Bank, about Israel’s plans, the demolitions and displacement facing Palestinian communities and escalating state-backed settler violence and terror.
