Rakhine state About 50 Rohingyas who boarded a boat near Go Beach in Ngapali, Thandu District were arrested yesterday on August 19.

U Aung Kyaw Moe, a member of the National Unity Government NUG's human rights advisor, told RFA that they were trying to leave Malaysia by boat and were arrested during an emergency landing due to bad weather conditions.

"They are ordinary people, girls and boys. They are not victims of crime. They have not committed any crime. They are being arrested just because they are traveling around the country."

The coup military council continues to perpetrate oppression on the Rohingyas, both on the Rohingyas and the Rohingyas. U Aung Kyaw Moe said that the military council will be held responsible for crimes committed against other ethnic groups.

It is also known that children are among those arrested, and they are being held at Thandu Police Station.

Rohingya are often arrested because they are not allowed to travel freely in the country.

The coup military council is saying that they are preparing to bring back the Rohingya who fled to Bangladesh.

At the same time, the Rohingya who remained in the country are being arrested and imprisoned for trespassing.

According to data collected by RFA, between the end of December 2021 and the middle of June 2022, 602 Rohingya Muslims were arrested in Rakhine State and Myanmar.
