USA: The Reviled Empire, With No Sovereignty by Maung Zarni

 For all intents and purposes, Israel dictates the American policy in the domain that everyone in their right mind would view as life and death for a people. That is, when or against whom the United States Government would wage a war.

That this specific foreign entity, to belabour the obvious, in effect, has an extraordinary level of influence over US Foreign Policy making had been warned publicly by those in the know, two decades before the publication of John Mearshimer and Stephan Walt’s The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy (originally a commissioned article by The Atlantic Monthly, which the Atlantic Monthly’s editors chose not to run in 2002)

Forget the well-known critics of Donald J. Trump or his predecessor Joe Biden who have screamed foul of the US Presidents – and the bicameral legislature in Washington pandering to the vast ecosystem of Israel Lobby. Donald Trump’s own Director of National Counterterrorism Center, Joe Kent, himself, a decorated US Special Forces veteran, resigned publicly, having spelled out THE reason that compelled him to leave his post, though a staunch supporter of Trump’s MAGA promises.

Alas, for nearly 40-years, this ugly truth – USA, the so-called Empire of Liberty – is not at liberty to pursue its own national interests and to avoid any self-harm , was observed by some Americans.

In 1987, an American Christian pastor and anti-Zionist activist – Ted Pike and his wife Helen, warned their fellow Americans of the vice-like grip the Zionist lobby – known as the American Israel Public Affairs Committee – has on US Congress. He exposed the lobby’s weaponization of “anti-Semitism” to keep American politicians in line.

In a 53-minute video Ted Pike made, he identified the Arab-Israeli conflict as the ignitor of the World War III while delving into the religious and encyclopaedic Jewish texts. Watch the documentary below:

Needless to say, confronting really inconvenient facts in these old texts – as Ted Pike did in the documentary, will very likely trigger accusations of anti-Semitism. And some may find offensive – and “antisemitic” that I am even making references to Pike and his critiques of Israel, Zionism and Jewish texts.

One need not examine scriptural or literary texts regarded as sacred to see Israel’s increasingly visible influence across multiple areas of American life, extending beyond the Executive Branch and Congress to culture and entertainment, social and legacy media, higher education, banking and finance, and real estate.It is profoundly ironic that the USA – both state and society – have demonized, dehumanized and sought to subjugate Islam and 1.5 billion adherents during its War on Terror worldwide while the American sovereignty is effectively hijacked by Israel and the vast network of Israel’s backers at home.

Attacking Muslim countries, slaughtering Muslim civilian populations, wantonly, while financing, arming, protecting and collaborating in Israel’s Gaza Holocaust, the United States has irreversibly destroyed its own image, global standing, and, in short, on a path of national political suicide.

The renowned economist Jeffrey Sachs, who has been in many a front-row seat as a witness to key transformative historical moments – such as the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, has identified the fundamental problem: the delusional incapacity of the power elite of USA to understand that history has moved on, and other “Trumpian shit hole” countries have caught up, just like the 3-generations of Britain’s elite that are still suffering from the self-inflicted mental illness of thinking and feeling themselves imperial, even 80-years after the death of their British Empire, a system of extractive thieving and looting.

Compared the Anglo-American power elite and chattering classes who just can’t let go of their dead and dying empires, even the drunken Soviet leader Boris Johnson sounded sober and dignified.

It is worth-quoting Professor Sacks who recounted verbatim what Gorbachev’s successor Boris Yeltsin told him (and a small delegation of Americans) face to face in December 1991: “Gentlemen, I want to tell you that the Soviet Union is over.”

Can you imagine fanatical and erratic Donald J. Trump telling an Iranian delegation of rational and educated mullahs from Teheran, “Delegates, we want to re-join Humanity, embrace peace and harmony, and be normal like you, Iranians, Palestinians, Lebanese, Houthis, Chinese and Russians!”?

Of course not.

For extractive, thieving, and looting Empires are typically run by low-life thugs, whatever their educational credentials.

It feels as though Christin pastor Ted Pike’s words from 1987, identifying Arab-Israel – or more Israel’s one-side crimes across West Asia including Palestine, are going to be prophetic.
