A year after the so-called ceasefire, what has really changed for Palestinians in Gaza – and how can those of us outside help?
On today’s show we’ll talk to Asem Alnabih in Gaza about the devastating reality of life under Israel’s continuing genocide. Asem is an engineer, PhD researcher, former Gaza Municipality spokesperson and a correspondent for Alaraby TV.
We’ll talk about his recent article for The Electronic Intifada, “A failed attempt to describe life in Gaza during the ‘ceasefire,’” and hear his account of a girl who doesn’t know what a home is – and a young boy who didn’t recognize a watermelon.
We’ll also discuss his recent reporting for Alaraby TV on women with breast cancer denied essential treatment, and his challenging reflections on how supporters abroad can help Palestinians in Gaza more effectively and fairly.
Jon Elmer reports on fighting between Ansarallah and Saudi-backed forces in Yemen, and will give us an update on Iranian operations in the Strait of Hormuz.
Nora Barrows-Friedman brings the latest news from Palestine, including Israel’s ongoing attacks in Gaza, assaults on Palestinian human rights organizations and olive harvesters in the West Bank, and the demolition of a Palestinian village in the Naqab.
Roqayah Chamseddine reports from Lebanon on Israel’s continuing attacks and occupation.
Join Jon, Nora, Ali Abunimah and Tamara Nassar for all this and more.
Thank you for reading, listening to and sharing all our original news and analysis at The Electronic Intifada.
