Hi Habib, From New York City to Palestine, all forms of state violence must be dismantled: Abolish ICE, abolish the police, and free Palestine. The same deadly weapons, surveillance technology, and violent tactics employed against Palestinians are also wielded against our communities by ICE and the police.1 Our struggles are intertwined. This week marks three years since Israel began its current ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people. The Israeli military has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians in Gaza since October 20232, and we know this official death toll is a vast undercount. Israeli officials are now openly threatening to bring the same violence to the West Bank.
Through all of it, people across the world are still rising up, and you all kept showing up too. Your calls and emails add to the pressure on Congress every week, and the call for a free Palestine keeps spreading, from stadium stages to union halls. Thank you for being part of this movement. Here’s what you need to know and how you can take action.
See the report: Instagram - The Gaza Genocide Center’s Gaza Index keeps a running record of the genocide in numbers, including deaths, destruction, displacement, and aid, with every figure tied to its original source.3
- At the end of September, a Chicago immigration judge ruled that Salah Sarsour, president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, can be deported. Sarsour is a green card holder who has lived in the U.S. for more than 30 years. His lawyers plan to appeal.4
- Israeli forces imprisoned American teenager Abdalkareem Issa Ahmed Safi based on “secret evidence.” They took him from his family’s West Bank home in a 3AM raid in June, days before his 18th birthday.5
- Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel needs to “go to war” in the West Bank and “do there what we did in Gaza.”6 U.S. weapons keep flowing to his government.
- Right now, settlers protected by Israel are attacking Palestinian families picking olives across the West Bank, and on October 7 they killed 44-year-old Ali al-Bazzari during the harvest near Burqa.7

- Every Senate Democrat (except for Sen. John Fetterman) voted to investigate Israel's human rights abuses in the West Bank, including the killings of U.S. citizens. While it failed to pass, the very close vote further represents an enormous shift in the Democratic Party, showing how far our movement has pushed the needle on Palestine.8
- The labor movement is fighting back. Dockworker unions at dozens of ports across Europe and the Mediterranean have called an international day of action on October 30, demanding an end to the genocide in Palestine.9 Palestinian trade unions are calling on workers everywhere to take action from November 20 to 29.10
- After Macklemore was pushed off Ed Sheeran’s tour, he announced a Free Palestine benefit tour, with shows in Dublin, Paris, and London, which sold out almost immediately.11 Then country star Zach Bryan wore a “Free Palestine” shirt on stage at Robert Kraft’s own Gillette Stadium for two nights.12
- Rep. Aisha Wahab just signed on to the Block the Bombs Act (H.R. 3565), bringing the bill to 82 cosponsors.13 Your calls and emails through USCPR Action keep growing that list.

- Plant an olive tree in Palestine. Rooting Resistance, a campaign from our sibling organization USCPR, supports Palestinian farmers continuing to fight for their land. Just $25 plants one olive tree and powers USCPR’s work for liberation.
- Join our next phonebank on Wed, Oct 14, 7 PM EDT/ 4PM PDT, and call friendly supporters to help move more representatives to cosponsor the Block the Bombs Act.
- Support the fight to break Israel bonds in Palm Beach County, Florida, which has put about $1 billion of public money into Israel bonds, more than any other investor. USCPR youth fellows have led this campaign with the Internationalist Law Center.14
- Use USCPR’s Stop Gaza Genocide toolkit to protest, disrupt, boycott, advocate, or organize a strategic campaign in your own community.
