Bigotry of Srinavasa Sarma

While reading the interview of Dr Zarni, I came across some insensitive comments made by someone named Srinivasa Sarma. He says that Rohingyas are to be blamed for their trouble: they are not integrated within Myanmar.

The bigotry of Srinivasa Sarma is so obvious from his posting. He is willing to justify crimes against the Rohingyas. It does not matter if the victims genuinely deserve not only our sympathy but also actions to ease their pains. The hatred spewed by HIndutvadi fascists is nothing new, esp. with Modi in power these days in India where Muslims are lynched on mere suspicion of keeping or eating beef.

No wonder that Modi was supportive of genocidal crimes of the Tadmadaw (long known as the rapist army)! With his own hands bloodied against the Kashmiri Muslims, we surely did not expect a transformation in Modi, and he has not surprised us with his statement in Myanmar when meeting Suu Kyi.

What we ought to know is that religio-fascists like Modi did not come to power in vacuum. They had the critical support from their die-hard saffron-brigades of Bajrang Dal, RSS and Sangh Parivar within India.

One can only loathe such hatred spewed by bigots like Sarma. I am not sure if he understands the meaning of integration. Integration does not require a crow to behave like a peacock in the presence of other peacocks or vice-versa. It retains its identity without feeling threatened. Unfortunately, in today's India, with all the reports of lynching it is quite obvious that non-Hindus are forced to behave, act and eat like Hindus failing which they are lynched for being different than the majority Hindus.

What India is going through is surely not integration where diversity reigns, but the dawning of Hindutvadi fascism. Kapish?
