History in India has been adulterated that it is impossible for most Indian students to know the truth. Consider, e.g., the case of freedom movement against the British Raj. A reading of history books in India today would give the impression that Muslims did not participate in that movement to oust the Brits, and it were all the Hindus who protested and gave lives. That is revisionist history that has corrupted India, more so these days under Hindutvadi rule that sees no place for Muslims and other minorities there.
