In Bagona Village tract (former Rohingya Village) in the southern part of Maung Taw Township, Rakhine State, ULA is now calling Rakhine families from Yathe Taung Township to build houses for Rakhine invaders. Local Rohingyas tell MDN.
"In Bagona village (former Rohingya village) which was set on fire by Myanmar military during the 2017 genocide, invading houses for Rakhine people under AA/ULA program are being built. Already starting last week. The old market in Bagona village has been cleared with Budoza and Rakhine settlers are being built in the old Rohingya village on the west and east sides of the market. 20 x 40 foot plot of land being delivered and placed. AA/ULA is calling Rakhine families from southern Rakhine and Yathe Taung townships and building invasive houses for them.
According to a Maung Taw resident's statement to MDN, AA/ULA is building Rakhine invaded houses in the villages of Rohingya ethnic people that were burnt by Myanmar military is a plan to equalize the population according to the Rakhitalism (Rakhine Nationalism).
In addition, AA/ULA is distributing the lands which owned by Rohingyas to the Rakhine people, 2 acres of land per family is being given in the allocation. Each tractor is being supplied according to Rakhine village which has been expanded and settled. It is said that the equipment needed to run agricultural operations is also being supplied.
According to a witness from Maung Taw local to MDN, AA/ULA has taken about 2 Rakhine families from Yathe Taung Township to Maung Taw Hla Phoe Khong Rescue Center within these days. Many other Rakhine families have also been called from the southern side of Rakhine state. It is known that an AA chief said that Rakhine family will be allowed to settle after the construction of Bagona settlement houses.
Rohingya villages that have been cleared by forceful removal of ULA/AA in 2025 include Pyin Yar Village Group, Maung Gyi Mountain, Kyatmauk Mountain Village Group, Davu Chaung Village, Pearl Mountain, Aung Lan Pyin Village Group, Thara Hill, Maung Hla Ma Hill Hill, Nga/Kyintauk, Fire Monastery, Laung Chaung, Inner Bird Village, Ash Tree, Palm Reserve, Brown Mountain Village Group, Kontai Village Group, Thar. According to sources, almost 40 Rohingya villages have been settled in Maunggye Mountain Village Group, Fataw Ali Village, Da Paing Sayar Village Group, Myitna Village, Na Yang Chaung Village, Keenok Village, etc. and dozens of Rohingya villages, including Maung Gyi Taung and Tat Min Chaung Village where the Rohingya lived.
AA is forcing the Rohingyas from the original villages of Buthi Taung township where most of them own land, houses, and farms, and have given them a 20 x 40 feet plot to build houses on the east bank of Mayu river by giving them a place. AA has not provided anything to the Rohingyas who are in distress in the sea during this rainy season, and they are not allowed to go to the nearby forest to cut bamboo and trees. There is a big fair nearby where Rakhine people sell bamboo, dani, and wood. Locals of Bui Taung said that rich people can buy and build houses, 99% of them are facing hunger, and on the other hand they are fleeing to Bangladesh.
"Regarding the new location AA is relocating the vacant farm lands that were previously owned by the Rohingyas and later taken over by the military. I give you a plot of land. It gives you a roof cover. I'm building my own house. It's very dangerous in the new place. The houses are so close to each other, it's a great concern for fire. Bad water, miller dumping is not systematic, it can cause infectious diseases. AA has been submitted but no response. I moved to arrest if I don't move from my previous village. "The farms that were owned before are not available now," said a Rohingya farmer who was forced to move by ULA/AA.
According to the latest data collected, around one lakh Rohingyas have been fleeing the area since ULA/AA took over Boogyi Mountain Township and AA has been forcefully removing tens of thousands of Rohingyas without their consent and relocating them to a new place as "refugee camp".
In addition, ULA/AA is leading the "Rakhita System" in the areas occupied by AA. Hundreds of Rakhine family members have been accommodated since May in Boo Byei Taung township where Rohingyas were expelled, Maunggyi Taung and Tatmin Chaung, Kie Chaung/Thamikhali have been accommodated by AA/ULA's program. They have been providing shelter to Rakhine family who fled the war from Yathe Taung and Thandwe.
Local Rakhines have been taking over territorial occupations in the vacant Rohingya villages. Aung Lan Pyin Rakhine village has been taken over by farms near Aung Laun Pyin Rohingya village nearby. It is known that there are Rohingya village locally called Rosanabil.
"In the past, Booyi Mountain and Maung Taw were Rohingya Muslims and now, under AA, there are people changing the population ratio. The first priority is that the Rakhine refugees from Thandang district and Yathe Taung township are being relocated at Booy Mountain. The second priority is that the Rohingya villages in Maung Taw Township are forcing them to move the Rakhine villages. Locals say AA/ULA is making preparations to get rid of them and relocate the Rakhines.
