A spokesman for Iran’s Army said on Sunday that if the US restarts the bombing campaign against the Islamic Republic, President Trump will not be able to “dictate” the length of the conflict and warned that the war could be longer than previous ones.
“A potential future war could last longer than previous conflict, and the American president would not be in a position to dictate the timing or the conditions of its conclusion,” said Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akraminia, according to Iranian media.
A similar statement was released on the social media channels of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. “Should Iran’s enemies resume military or terrorist attacks, it will be the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic and the Iranian nation that will determine when and under what conditions those attacks will end,” Khamenei said in a directive to Iranian military officials.

The warnings come after media reports said that the US has been warning its Gulf Arab allies to prepare for a “short, intense” military campaign against Iran.
Both Akraminia and Khamenei also warned that Iran would significantly expand its retaliation in the face of renewed US and Israeli attacks. “Should a new military adventure be launched, US facilities, equipment, personnel, and interests could be targeted wherever they are within reach,” Akraminia said.
Khamenei told Iranian military commanders that any “level or type of threat must be met with an immediate, impactful, and geographically unrestricted response,” according to his Telegram channel.
The Iranian leader also ordered the “comprehensive updating of the military target database to ensure that all kinds of physical and non-physical assets of the US-Zionist enemy are brought within the reach of the Armed Forces.”
