U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and Congressman August Pfluger introduced the Uyghur Human Rights Sanctions Review Act on Dec 20th, 2022.
Under the Uyghur Human Rights Sanctions Review Act, Hikvision (Haikang Shiwei), Dahua, Tiandy and BGI are currently under export-control sanctions for their human rights abuses in East Turkistan. The legislation would require the Treasury Department to rule on freezing all U.S. assets of these companies, and banning them from the U.S. banking system, by imposing Global Magnitsky targeted human rights sanctions. Justice For All has adopted to work on the passage of this bill.
The 2022 CECC Annual report provides a detailed account of the systematic and often brutal efforts by the Chinese Communist government to censor, torture, and detain critics of Chinese policy, rights defenders and human rights lawyers, advocates of free speech, religious freedom and women’s rights, and ethnic minorities.
The report makes specific reference to Chinese forced organ harvesting, citing peer-reviewed studies published earlier this year by the American Journal of Transplantation. Justice For All is advocating for the passage of the Stop Forced Organ Harvesting Act of 2021.
